Million Mom March set for Mother's Day
Steve Young was a 45-year-old father of four boys at 5:30 on the afternoon of June 10, 1996.
His 19-year-old son Andrew was making a left turn on to Howard Street from Clark Street at that moment. Andrew's twin brother was seated in the family car along with friends who had just had one of those adolescent verbal skirmishes with a disgruntled fellow adolescent who was aboard a bicycle.
"When we were kids, it would have ended up with a punch through the car window and they would all have lived to tell about it," Young, a former piano tuner, said Tuesday.
