Federal Health Minister KAY PATTERSON hasn't ruled out a proposal to allow GPs to setup shop in hospital emergency wards for non-critical patients.

State and territory leaders have called on the Commonwealth to extend trials allowingdoctors to work from hospital emergency wards to ease the pressure on emergency from afall in the availability of bulk-billing doctors.

Senator PATTERSON told ABC radio she's prepared to look at ways of dealing with peoplewho arrive at emergency wards but don't need hospital treatment.
